Artist’s Statement

“I was inspired by the Hamsa which is a symbol in both Jewish and Muslim culture.  I am aware that in Jerusalem there are people who can’t work to get along, there are surely people of all faiths in Jerusalem who would like to see peace. I had the doves holding banners with “Jerusalem” in different languages. Rather than showing religious symbols, I wanted to show the traditional symbol of peace with the Arabic, Hebrew and English versions of the name.”
